She doesn’t believe in forever or staying with the same guy. Throughout the book, Ash keeps going on and on about how she’s not the serious type and would only date guys before moving on to the next. She’s attracted to Chase who works there and he asks her out. Nat works in a fudge shop and when Ashleigh goes there, she instantly gets fudge – and a date. They could easily fade into the background and nothing would change. I don’t even know why Hawthorne bothers with the last two since they barely show up and have zero personality. Right when Ashleigh (‘Ashley’ would be an easier spelling but that’s my opinion) gets there, she instantly makes friends with Nathalie, Corey and Shanna. Since Ashleigh Sneaux’s (pronounced ‘snow’ and yeah it’s silly – it’s easier to spell it as ‘snow’) father is going to remarry, she and her mum move to a little island and decide to open a bed and breakfast place.Īs much as it was a delightfully pleasant read, it really had no depth and it was unrealistic. Hawthorne writes in such a way that the story flows smoothly and you find yourself turning the pages despite the fact that the story is of the generic type. ‘Snowed In’ was a surprisingly engrossing book.
